Inculcate & Nurture Scientific Temper among People

With a view to promote and encourage research and developmental activities in the areas of Industries, Energy, Environment, Biotechnology, Information Technology and thereby accelerate the process of sustainable development of the State. The Government of Gujarat has decided to institute  Dr. Vikram Sarabhai Award for young scientists in the above mentioned fields. The Government has envisaged the importance in advancement of technology and emergence of new areas in the field of science and technology.

The award consists of a cash prize of Rs. One Lac, a memento and a Citation. The award is being awarded by the Honourable Chief Minister of the state.

A scientist or a group of scientists who have developed a new product/ process/ technology/device for practical use through their original and innovative research work/inventions are considered for the award.

GUJCOST advertises in the leading newspapers and circulates to the R&D Institutions/Universities in the state seeking application from the scientists for the award.

  Eligibility

• Age Limit :-  No age bar

• Nationality :- Indian

• Residing :- Scientist Residing and Working in GUJARAT

• Submission :- Scientist has to submit their proposals in the prescribed format in 20 copies. Scientist associated with any institute has to apply through proper channel and those who are not associated with any institute has to submit their proposal along with recommendation letter from two eminent scientist working in the field.
